Newgrounds.com — Everything, By Everyone →
This is a lip sync test I’ve done as practise for my next animation. Its got a voice clip from the 11second club, and I think I’m getting a lot better at facial expressions whilst syncing, which I’m glad about.

Essay Complete!
Well, that’s my 3000 word essay done and dusted. I’v learnt a lot about Russian and American animation in the time I’ve spent researching into these nations for my question. I’ve also discovered some interesting areas of the soviet Union that peaked my interest, specifically the Socialist Realism movement during the 1940s, and the Cold war Era in the 60s. All I can do now...

Aldar and the Grey Wolf by Rim Sharafutdinov →
As I was doing research into contemporary Russian animation, I came across this gem. I love the art style used, and how the entire story is narrated by a musical score. Its a great example of how far Russia has come since escaping the limitations of Soviet Era censorship.

This is a logo I designed for INC, my narrative animation. Its not complete, and this is a low resolutio version, but so far I’m really happy with the way its turned out. Its successfully created a ‘noire’ atmosphere that I was aiming for, so fingers crossed the rest of the animation will keep up...

Productive Day
As the title says - a productive day! Heck, I’ve had a productive week this week! Very nearly finished my animation, so I’ll be hunting for a sound guy soon. I’ve also Just finished my presentation on American animation history for Monday, and its busting with information, so fingers crossed my partner and I will be able to keep the masses entertained for the hour we are...

Batman: The Animated Series →
I really like the opening scene of the Batman series. I’ve taken a lot of inspiration for the city from this intro (among other things, of course) and I’ve even added in a small nod the the original cartoon in INC. I’ve added here the section I’ve really enjoyed watching out of the intro - its when Batman drops in at 0:33

Wow, efficiency is key!
Well, I asked my Voice Actor Alejandro (known on NGs as KaggyVA) to get the rest of the script delivered to me by the 8th March, which is this coming Friday. A few hours later I checked my email only to find a link with a single line of text, reading: ‘Why wait till next friday?’
I opened the link only to find the rest of the script recorded, multiple times in different styles and...

Progress!
So my Voice Actor got back to me today with a revamped version of the first Act, and the resulting recording is almost an exact mirror of how I imagined Yurai’s voice and personality to be like. Unfeeling, confident, and yet slightly amused, in a sort of callous, psychotic way. I’ve replied with a very positive email, and requested that the rest of the script be sent to me by friday of...

Voice Actors
I’ve been busy leafing through a good few voice demos today as well as finishing off my storyboard (now hitting the 65 shot mark - eeep) And I think I may have finally found someone with the voice of Yurai. I’m going to finish off my storyboard and then get in contact with him later on today. Fingers crossed he’s up for helping me out!

Break time!
Well this has been a productive few days! I’ve managed to get up to shot 47 in my storyboard tonight, which means its time for a break. I’ll probably continue with painting for the rest of the evening and finish off the storyboard tomorrow. By the end of the week, I expect to have the animatic done and a voice actor found too. Also, considering my last animation storyboard got to...

Today.
Well, today I finally dealt with the finance budgeting that came alongside producing the Armories Project. It took me most of the morning, but I organised the budget list, filled out all the claim forms that were required, alongside organizing the receipts and working out the VAT. After clearing those responsibilities and emailing the musician (again) I went to a lesson with Ged Haney, a character...

My favourite and most loved quotes from Da Vinci. Oddly enough, I’ve been noticing this a lot recently too. Looks like I must be doing something right!
